The 23rd Best of the Super Junior tournament kicked off this Saturday with some blowaway action in Korakuen Hall, with some late changes to the tournament, thanks to the withdrawal of both Young Bucks through injury.

Since January 4’s Wrestling Kingdom show, New Japan have been forced to undergo a few changes, thanks to the high-profile exists of four top stars. In spite of the losses of Messrs Styles, Nakamura, Gallows and Anderson, New Japan have kept rolling on, with Tetsuya Naito’s capture of the IWGP Heavyweight title sending the company in a new direction.
New Japan’s Road to Wrestling Dontaku tour continued on Wednesday – yes, it’s an awkward day for a live televised show – with a rare stop in Hataka, for a card featuring a moved Intercontinental title match.
Sunday April 24 saw New Japan complete a double header at Korakuen Hall, with another Road to Wrestling Dontaku card, headlined with another elimination match between the Bullet Club and the rest of New Japan.
With the recent earthquake in Kumamoto forcing New Japan to cancel a pay-per-view later this week and shuffle some cards around, New Japan World brought us another Korakuen Hall event this past Saturday, as the Road to Wrestling Dontaku continued!
After my last week was dominated by WWE and EVOLVE-esque shows, it’s about time we switched up the diet. New Japan’s Invasion Attack show earlier today came at the right time. As I missed this live, it was the turn of On-Demand viewing for this… and with the counter showing that this show weighed in at just under five hours, the obvious WrestleMania comparisons came into play. Would Invasion Attack be too long at four hours, and would they do anything that would make this show memorable?
