We return to the Grind for a quick look at the latest pair of matches in the hunt for medals…
Quick Results
Spartan Medal: Chantal Jordan pinned the Duchess in 6:29 (**¾)
Chronos Medal: Riley Nova pinned Sha Samuels in 7:50 (***)
Once again we’re back in Digbeth at the Kamikaze Pro dojo with commentary from Conor Bailey, Lucy Simons and Jetta… and we’re straight to action.
Chantal Jordan vs. The Duchess
Jordan comes in with a Cerberus medal by way of her tag match win with Jay Joshua a few weeks ago…
An even start quickly gives way to a shoulder tackle from the Duchess… but Jordan’s low dropkicks turned the match around in a hurry as she proceeded to take the Duchess into the corner for some face-washing knees.
The Duchess manages to sneak in an enziguiri and a suplex, but she’s tripped up into the corner for more knees from Jordan. That’s followed up with a diving kick for a two-count, then a suplex as Jordan was comfortably in control, stinging the Duchess with numerous kicks to the hamstring.
Jordan’s given a receipt with some kicks in return from the Duchess, but a whip into the corner resets things. The Duchess manages to duck a kick, countering with a roll-up for a two-count before clotheslines bounced Jordan around the ring… leading to a Torpedo headbutt for another two-count.
A teardrop suplex keeps the Duchess ahead, but in the end a head kick out of nowhere was enough to put her away as Chantal Jordan moved a step closer to a title shot. **¾
There’s a promo from Oscar Prospero as he celebrated his Rumble win last week… but he’s still pining for the return of the absent Dave Breaks?
Then we recap Leon Cage’s win over Adam Bolt last week… and then we’re outside as Bolt’s getting into an argument with his security detail Jackie T. Focus, lads. Jackie’s offering to take on someone to win a medallion back for “them” – I didn’t know they were transferable?
We then switch to Jackie T walking into… not Antonio Gonzalez, it’s Tyler Owens and Maddy Morgan. Jackie’s picking a fight with Morgan, and I guess that’s where we go?
Next week – we’ve three matches: Maddy Morgan vs. Jackie T, Madison Marley vs. Harley Hudson, and Millie McKenzie vs. Melissa Fierce.
Sha Samuels vs. Riley Nova
We’ve got ten minutes on the clock here as Sha looks to add a second medal… but he’s not too thrilled at Joey Slade appearing. He’s been farmed off for commentary to babysit, as Sha does the opposite of letting him down gently.
Joseph Conners is ringside as well for this, so expect shenanigans. An aggressive start sees Sha take Nova into the corners, but Sha keeps getting distracted by Slade on commentary. That allowed Nova to charge Sha into the corner, but Nova’s offence ended in a hurry as Sha quickly rolled him to the mat for some elbows to the neck.
A volley kick to Nova’s back led to a clothesline that took Riley over the top and to the floor… he doesn’t give chase, but instead gets distracted by Joseph Conners. Nova’s attempt to blindside Sha doesn’t work though, but again Conners keeps at it, allowing Riley to pull Sha off the middle rope as we finally had the turnaround.
Nova chokes Sha in the ropes… Conners takes a cheapshot behind the ref’s back, which disgusts Slade. We keep going with a bodyslam from Nova for a two-count as he then proceeded to light up Sha with chops and clubbing forearms. There’s yet more cheapshots from Conners as Nova’s chinlock on the mat made Sha go a concerning shade of red.
Sha breaks free of the hold with a jawbreaker, then added a nice back body drop to give himself some time as he proceeded to bounce Nova around the ring with right hands. A clothesline off the ropes follows, before a Michinoku Driver to Nova prompted Conners to jump up onto the apron to distract the ref.
Slade abandons commentary to deal with Conners, but in the process it distracts Sha as well… who ends up getting low blowed as Nova then hit an elevated Flatliner to get the win. That’s Sha back to square one, and Riley Nova’s got a medal of his own to add to Conners’ pair. ***
Sha and Slade argue in the ring afterwards before Sha abandoned Joey to close out the episode…
