An early shot from All In weekend, with what was billed as a Britwres dream match.
We’re coming from a live stream from a sold-out Chandler Hall in Lambeth – there’ll be a fixed-up version of the video coming later on, which we’ll update as and when…
Commentary comes from Gio Nolastname and Leyton Buzzard.
Kanji vs. Jordon Breaks
If you’ve even a passing familiarity with their work, you can probably guess the kind of outing you’re in for here.
Breaks looked to control things, but Kanji’s escapes led us to *that* World of Sport-inspired sequence that Kanji countered with a folding pin for an early two-count. Countering a monkey flip into a slam, Breaks found himself slightly switching gears as he came close from a crossbody, before going back to his usual grounded style.
A bow and arrow hold from Breaks segued into a pinning attempt before he began to target Kanji’s historically-injured arm. Crucifix pins from Kanji stopped the tide briefly, as did a superkick as Kanji began to pepper Breaks with chops and kicks ahead of an Eye of the Hurricane in the ropes.
More strikes led to a diving back elbow from Kanji… but Breaks got a foot under the rope that the ref spotted in the nick of time to save the match. Focusing on that leg, Kanji stomps away en route to an Indian deathlock that Breaks swiftly broke out of as the pair fought over a double arm stretch, with Breaks turning it into Zack Sabre Jr.’s old Young Boy Killer.
Holding firm, Kanji manages to break out, kicking Breaks’ knees from behind to knock him down for a cross armbar. Breaks gets free as we forget it’s a family show on commentary, with Kanji slapping away a Sharpshooter attempt before her Tiger Feint kick was caught and turned into a Giant Swing. I love me a Giant Swing… and that led to the finish as Breaks manages to get in the Sharpshooter for the submission.
Result: Jordon Breaks submitted Kanji in 12:18 (***½)
Buoyed by a hell of a crowd in the intimate setting, this was an enjoyable outing with Breaks and Kanji’s styles working oh so good together.
