A lot’s changed in the last week – tighter restrictions, lockdowns… so here’s a new look at some wrestling distractions on YouTube.
Of course, last week we posted our first look around YouTube – we’ll be starting to look at promotions’ VOD services soon, but for now, here’s the latest batch of freebies…
- ICW uploaded the second night of 2019’s Shug’s Hoose Party event onto their YouTube. This one’s got Viper vs. Toni Storm, Alexander Dean vs. Ricky Knight Jr. and Wolfgang vs. Stevie Boy to crown a new ICW champion…
- Impact’s uploaded their Lockdown show from 2005 onto YouTube. This all-cage show features Christopher Daniels vs. Elix Skipper, AJ Styles vs. Abyss and AMW vs. Team Canada in a strap match (inside a cage. Yes, we know…)
- They’ve also uploaded the first King of the Mountain match from April 2006. It’s on their YouTube, featuring Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Chris Harris, Ron Killings and Raven…
- Jeff Katz’s Wrestling Retribution Project (that of Kickstarter infamy) released a dump of their matches and segments onto YouTube over the weekend. We’ll be taking a look at some of these, especially “Welsh” Timothy Thatcher…
- Dragon Gate held a no-fans show at Kobe’s Sanbo Hall on March 22 – it’s up on YouTube for free, and features quite a few names you’ll have heard of, even if you’re not deep into the Japanese scene. Ho Ho Lun (of Cruiserweight Classic fame), Dragon Kid, Naruki Doi, Masato Yoshino and Ultimo Dragon feature in an all-tags card.
- WAW held a similar no-fans show, called Hard Times. The show’s up on-demand on their YouTube page…
- Of course, WrestleTalk’s No Fans Monday from last week is still up to stream on their YouTube…
- AAW’s Hell Hath No Fury from 2015 has been posted onto their YouTube. That features Ethan Page vs. Eddie Kingston, Samoa Joe vs. Josh Alexander and Tommaso Ciampa vs. Tommy End (currently Aleister Black).
- They’ve also put up 2015’s Windy City Classic onto YouTube as well. That one features Chris Hero (Kassius Ohno) vs. Pentagon Jr., Fenix vs. Tommaso Ciampa and a three-way main event with Eddie Kingston, Trevor Lee (Cameron Grimes) and Ethan Page.
- … and 2013’s Day of Defiance show as well! That’s on their YouTube page and includes Eddie Kingston’s AAW debut, Silas Young vs. Samuray del Sol (Kalisto), Davey Richards vs. Mixed Martial Archie, and a last man standing match with Sami Callihan vs. Shane Hollister.
- Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment have a web show called Pirate TV. This latest episode features Eddie Kingston vs. Erick Stevens from October 2019…
- PROGRESS have put a free match up onto YouTube, in the form of Kyle Fletcher vs. Jordan Devlin from 2019’s Super Strong Style 16… they’re also starting a Twitch channel with streams of various content from their VOD archives…
- Beyond continue to upload matches to their YouTube. Most recent additions (at time of writing) include Swoggle vs. Chuck Taylor in a WeeLC match and Shotzi Blackheart vs. Tracy Williams…
- OTT’s posted some free matches onto their YouTube as well – The Lads from the Flats vs. Gymnasties (from Scrappermania 2) and More Than Hype vs. Rey Horus & Lucha Bros from last year’s Outer Space Odyssey 4
- EVE’s Free Match Tuesday last week was a slice of insanity from last year’s Kris Wolf retirement show…
- WWE’s posted some random matches onto their YouTube, like Edge vs. Rey Mysterio (from Royal Rumble 2008), Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar (from SummerSlam 2003), Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon (the famous ladder match from WrestleMania 10), The Rock vs. Stone Cold (from WrestleMania 19) and Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels (from WrestleMania 24)
- ATTACK!’s most recent show – Road to Sacrifice – is available now on Vimeo. If you use the promo code FREESACRIFICE it’s free!
- Fite.tv continues to have free weekly wrestling – with archives as well. ROH, Impact Pro Wrestling New Zealand, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling all have free content and archives.
- Fite.tv have also launched free 24/7 streaming channel – head over to Fite.tv and you’ll see the link there – it’ll stream a variety of Fite’s boxing, MMA and wrestling content…
- If you’re looking to catch-up, MLW Fusion and AEW Dark continue to be posted on YouTube for the foreseeable future – with their back catalogues also up there.
As long as the current situation continues, we’ll be mixing up reviews with recommendations – and if there’s anything we’ve missed, message us in the comments below, or through our Twitter page. We might not be able to provide an answer to the current crises around the world, but if all we can do is help distract from the rolling news coverage, then that’s something. Stay safe out there!
