With Shotgun replacing the old Fight Forever shows, we’re straight into the main card here, with the animated transitions returning from Carat alongside Mett Dimassi and Norman Harras on the English commentary. You shouldn’t have…

wXw Shotgun Championship: Amedeo vs. Dennis Dullnig (c)
Amedeo was essentially gifted this shot by Dullnig after Carat weekend in a bid to avoid facing Axel Tischer here.

Mett brings up a story about how Amedeo was given a pre-show match before the recent show in Leipzig after he drove Ricky Sosa to the show – and the rest is history! Amedeo fell for a handshake early on, but armdrags helped to put him ahead, as did a tijeras, before he took Dullnig outside for a dive.

Dullnig donates to the swear jar before he clobbered Amedeo with a forearm to the back of the head, stopping the Belgian’s flips in the process, as the Shotgun champion proceeded to slow things down. A flash roll-up nearly nicked the win for Amedeo, who proceeded to take Dullnig into the ropes with an overhead kick… but Dullnig grabbed the trunks and pulled Amedeo back in for shots to the back.

Amedeo’s able to break free, but a gutwrench gutbuster shuts down the Belgian, ahead of a Doctor Bomb and a ripcord clothesline for the win. A solid outing for Amedeo, who showed flashes of what he can do – I’d like to see him be a regular part of the undercards here for the time being. **¾

Backstage, Dan Mallmann’s joined by Zoltan and the Grind ahead of their trios tag match later on. It’s been dubbed “best of 16 Carat Gold” – given it’s packed with previous Carat winners, but Laurance Roman’s still a little sour about how their Carat went. Roman finally put over Zoltan’s Carat weekend after he’d been preoccupied previously… and I don’t have a good feeling about how this is going to end for these three.

Nordino vs. Dieter Schwartz
What on EARTH is Nordino wearing? That all blue shiny tracksuit looks ridiculous on him, particularly with the tag sticking out.

Frankfurt loved Dieter here, but the gas leak sounds were back, at least at the start. They just about dissipated though as Schwartz’s hiptoss took Nordino to the outside. The gas leaks returned as Schwartz’s knuckle-lock took Nordino down, only to miss a knee drop.

Schwartz got distracted by the shushing, which allowed Nordino in with an enziguiri, then with a shoulder tackle off the middle rope for a two-count. A DDT followed for a two-count before Schwartz hit back with an arm whip… then with a European uppercut and a knee drop to the arm, before the arm trap forced the submission. Let’s get the shushes worked out of everyone’s system, because the novelty’s gone and it hurt the flow of this match somewhat. **¼

Backstage, Dan’s with Metehan, Peter Tihanyi and Ahura, who’s sporting some eye black. Is he wrestling or doing American football? Tihanyi’s asked about Zoltan’s comment earlier about how the Grind and Zoltan would be a better team… Tihanyi agreed, but mentioned that his team’s got more star power, before saying he’d put his own past behind him and was going to focus on the future. Ahura and Tihanyi still have the blond hair by the way, but Metehan hasn’t joined in… I assume he’s just thrilled that Rambo’s not here to steal his thunder, but Metehan tries to have the crowd turn on Rambo in his absence, claiming he’s not there “because he’s got better things to do.”

Jane Nero vs. Lil Marz
Nero’s still got the wXw Women’s title around her waist, and with 10/10 Next Level at ringside, we’ve got the return of Norman’s not-so-coded digs! Thommy Giesen refused to announce Nero as the women’s champion, so Aleksander Bellamy did it for him.

Marz brought her own glitter gun, and looked to frustrate Nero early on as Norman Harras was suddenly becoming a Green Party candidate. A drop toe hold takes Nero into the ropes, but the wannabe champion bailed to avoid further offence… so Marz just dove onto her goons instead.

The distraction from Duke and Bellamy allows Nero back in though, as she dragged Marz back into the ring for a hanging neckbreaker. Nero stayed on Marz from there with forearms in the ropes, before a grounded sleeperhold looked to force a stoppage. Of course, Marz fought free, then took Nero back into the ropes for a Tiger Feint kick, before a death valley bomb almost got the win.

Nero’s kickout put her in more trouble as Marz rolled Nero into a crossface, while a pair of back suplexes looked to wear Nero down some more. A third one’s stopped via the ropes, as Nero instead chopped out a knee before a neckbreaker out of a Twist of Fate got the win. At some point you’d have to assume there’s going to be something to bring the title back officially. Like Femmes Fatales? **½

The Grind (Laurance Roman & Nick Schreier) & Zoltan vs. Ahura, Metehan & Peter Tihanyi
This one was billed as “the best of 16 Carat Gold” – with three Carat winners sprinkled across the match. Of course, Ahura got the monster reaction on his glorious (wrestling) return to his hometown.

Tihanyi and Roman start us off, but it’s Tihanyi who enjoyed the best of the early skirmishes, forcing an aggrieved Roman into the ropes. Zoltan’s in to try his luck against his compatriot, but Zoltan’s misdirection couldn’t save him from a Tihanyi dropkick before Nick Schreier came in for his shot. Schreier had some luck with a dropkick, before Metehan was tagged in… with Nick Schreier leading chants of “Rambo” to wind up the former Lucky Kid.

Metehan instantly tagged in Ahura, which changed the tone of the crowd. Ahura started out slow and steady, charging down Schreier ahead of headscissors and a chop… before Zoltan wandered in to get bodyslammed. Metehan tagged himself in as Ahura had things under control, with Zoltan getting taken into the corner for some mudhole stomping.

Metehan’s aggression forced Ahura into some apologies, but it made sure his team kept control as Tihanyi tagged in to keep the pressure up. The prolonged spell on defence wore Zoltan down… but again Metehan’s cheapshots forced Ahura into telling his partner to calm down as we crossed the ten-minute mark.

Zoltan manages to avoid a gutbuster as he made the tag out to Schreier… Tihanyi’s in too, but couldn’t stop a resurgent Schreier’s mounted punches in the corner. A superkick followed, before Roman came in to set up Tihanyi for the Grind Time… with Ahura in to stomp apart the pin. Roman was clearly aggrieved by that break, but remained on Tihanyi as the Grind focused on Tihanyi for a spell, leading to a chinlock on the mat.

A questionable tag brings Schreier back in as Tihanyi again remained on the back foot, before Roman returned to knock Metehan off the apron. Lauri’s self-distraction allowed Tihanyi to fire back with a running Meteora before Ahura got the hot tag in… Schreier’s back too as Ahura bust out a Destino… then powerbombed Zoltan into the ropes. A quick lariat followed, before Metehan tagged himself in to stop an attempt at the Salamandra.

Ahura and Metehan argue among themselves, leading to Roman coming in with a missile dropkick to the Carat winner, before Metehan’s swivelling lariat looked to put him on his way. It sparks a Parade of Moves though, with a Schreier Destroyer, a Tihanyi swinging DDT and a Roman swinging facebuster leaving everyone laying. The Parade keeps going, with Tihanyi’s leapfrog cutter leaving Zoltan on the mat, before they begged Metehan to tag out.

Of course Metehan refused, despite feeling his neck, and that’s the opening Nick Schreier needed as he fought back with a chop. Metehan snapped, and went to whip Schreier with his belt… Ahura and Tihanyi dashed in to stop it, but they got cleared out by the Grind. Schreier helps Metehan out as well ahead of a flip senton into the pile… Ahura adds a Divine Sandstorm that almost corkscrewed himself through the pile, before we returned to the ring.

Metehan’s still legal, but his sliding punch aimed at Schreier knocked Ahura off the apron. A blind tag has Roman in, cutting off Metehan’s sliding punch with a knee strike before a front slam and Zoltan’s frog splash got the win – this was your classic wXw trios match, with the mix of personalities in both teams meshing well… although I’m hoping that Metehan having a tag team here means we’re not going to break out into a Metehan/Ahura feud. ***½

Post-match, everyone checked on Metehan… who shoved Ahura aside before bailing.

They announced Broken Rules 2026 will be back at Frankfurt on July 11…

10/10 Next Level (Alex Duke & Aleksander Bellamy) vs. Cowboy Way (1 Called Manders & Thomas Shire)
An illness to Robert Dreissker (which commentary alleged may not have been on the level) forced a card change here – with Aleksander Bellamy joining Alex Duke for what some may assume will be a spot of legalized murder.

Shire and Bellamy start us off, but the opening minute is just Bellamy refusing to engage… so Shire just slaps him on the arse. Alex Duke’s in – to some cheers as he’s from near-enough Frankfurt (in Hanau) – but he’s instantly taken down to the mat by Shire. Uppercuts have Duke on jelly legs ahead of a tag in from Manders, whose chops made things worse. As did Duke’s attempt at a fight back, as Manders shrugged off chops and came back with more of his own.

Duke’s leaping clothesline forced an opening, but Bellamy tags in and finds himself hanging almost like the Wuppertal Monorail via a stalling suplex from Manders. Shire’s in with more uppercuts to Bellamy, before some distraction from Alex Duke took away the referee’s attention as Bellamy poked Shire in the eyes.

On the floor, Manders got run into the post as Next Level finally began to make some inroads into the match. Shire’s able to fight back and bring Manders in… but referee Tassilo Jung is up to his usual tricks and didn’t see it. A clothesline-assisted side Russian legsweep gets Bellamy a near-fall as Shire was finding himself in deep trouble and without anyone to tag.

Shire does fight off a double-team before folding Bellamy in half with a Saito suplex, before Manders got the hot tag in to chop his team back into the lead. Manders’ Stampede almost puts Bellamy down, before Shire helped lift up Bellamy for an avalanche slam… only for Duke to make the save. Manders got shoved down into Shire as Next Level again looked for the unlikely win, but Shire kicks out at one before the Duke’s Decree slam almost got Alex the win.

One more go at the clothesline/side-Russian legsweep’s stopped by Manders, who pulls Duke to the outside ahead of a Boss lariat on the floor… before Shire poked Bellamy in the eyes as revenge for earlier. A UFO followed, as did a folding powerbomb, and that’s your lot. This wasn’t ever going to be a squash, but Next Level more than held their own in this unexpected outing as they ended up getting dispatched by a pair that will still have one eye on a tag title shot… but it’ll have to be down the line as Manders is heading back to the States after this weekend! ***½

The card changes here meant that Katsuya Murashima faced Marc Empire instead – with that match seemingly taped for Shotgun this week…

wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship: Bobby Gunns vs. Elijah Blum (c)
One year ago in this same venue, Blum came up short when fighting for the then-vacant title… this time around he’s defending it against wXw’s longest-reigning champion. We’ve got the old school “rauchen ist tödlich” entrance for Bobby Gunns for his first title shot in almost 18 months…

Once the bell started, neither man rushed in, as Gunns started off by targeting the left arm before grounding Blum with a rear naked choke. Blum’s able to stop Gunns in his tracks though as he took Gunns into the corner for a step-up knee… before an early crack at Total Depravity ended with Gunns going for a Suzuki-esque armbar in the ropes instead.

Gunns followed up with an apron PK as things stayed on the outside, before more kicks back in the ring had Blum rocked. Uppercuts force Blum into a response, as a crossbody off the ropes sent Gunns crashing to the mat… but Blum celebrated too quickly and was instantly cut-off.

Back-and-forth shots in the corner ended with a German suplex from Gunns… then a brainbuster from Blum as we were back to square one. This time, Blum’s able to resume on the front foot, taking Gunns down with a flip neckbreaker, while a moonsault press out of the corner almost put this one to bed.

Blum stood over Gunns, throwing elbow strikes as he dared his challenger back into things, which led to see-saw kicks to the head. Blum tried to sneak out a Total Depravity, but a death valley driver countered that en route to a triangle armbar attempt. Instead, we got a Fujiwara armbar, forcing Blum to back up into the ropes to force some separation.

Gunns tried to hit back with an Ehrenmann Driver, but Blum escaped… only to backflip into the path of a shotgun dropkick, with a follow-up PK almost ending it. From there, Gunns stays on the arm, before we devolved into back-and-forth strikes off the ropes. Gunns escapes a neckbreaker before dumping Blum into his back with a Saito suplex… only for Blum to bust out a Torpedo Moscau?!

A brainbuster from Blum keeps him ahead… before a Parting Gift laid out Gunns for a near-fall as we looked to be on the home stretch. Total Depravity pushes us over the line, and that’s the win for Elijah Blum over one of wXw’s living legends. This was pretty good once the match got going – I don’t think many expected Gunns to win the title here, but this was far from a clear run for Blum in Frankfurt. ***¾

With a six-match card, wXw’s post-Carat offering was a pretty breezy outing that ticked all the right boxes – obviously the change to the tag title match wasn’t what people would have expected, but the best was made of the situation with the Cowboy Way giving some much needed ring time to Next Level on the undercard instead.

Elijah Blum faced off against the longest reigning former Unified World Wrestling champion, as he defended against Bobby Gunns in Frankfurt.

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

wXw We Love Wrestling #75 - 16 Carat Gold Revenge (March 28, 2026) recap - #WeLoveWrestling - Elijah Blum faced off against the longest reigning former Unified World Wrestling champion, as he defended against Bobby Gunns in Frankfurt.
[690,6,829
4776,7149,4429,7107,6200,7182,1168,7128,5624,6718,6204,6825,7167,1542,7134,6881,5285,6127,7159,5634,7125,5098,3146,454,6879
post-28954","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-european-indies","category-reviews","category-wxw","tag-1-called-manders","tag-10-10-next-level","tag-ahura","tag-aleksander-bellamy","tag-alex-duke","tag-amedeo","tag-bobby-gunns","tag-cowboy-way","tag-dennis-dullnig","tag-dieter-schwartz","tag-elijah-blum","tag-jane-nero","tag-katsuya-murashima","tag-laurance-roman","tag-lil-marz","tag-marc-empire","tag-metehan","tag-nick-schreier","tag-nordino","tag-peter-tihanyi","tag-the-grind","tag-thomas-shire","tag-we-love-wrestling","tag-wxw","tag-zoltan
["GET
