wXw We Love Wrestling LIVE – Münster (January 16, 2026)

    19th January 20265 Mins Read

We’ve got four matches from Münster as wXw’s latest grab bag gives us Bobby Gunns going for Ricky Sosa’s European title.

    Quick Results From The Stream
Elijah Blum pinned Aytac in 8:37 (***¼)
Cappuccino Jones pinned Zoltan in 11:57 (**¾)
Metehan pinned Nordino in 5:19 (**½)
Ricky Sosa pinned Bobby Gunns to retain the wXw European Championship in 10:57 (***¼)

    — Don’t forget to keep up to date with the Auf Die Fresse podcast… Links to subscribe and stream are available at AufDieFresse.co.uk

We’re coming live on stream from the Sputnikhalle in Münster – a standing-room only venue, and there’s one side of the ring that’ll you’d be pretty dumb to dive from.

    Elijah Blum vs. Aytac
Aytac’s entrance music isn’t quite as glorious as his GWF version, but it’s catchy nevertheless.

Initially backing Elijah up into the corner, Aytac looked to be the early aggressor, throwing an elbow before working over Blum’s arm. Freeing himself, a dropkick and a shoulder tackle got Blum into the match, before some shenanigans by Aytac, fiddling with the turnbuckle pad gave him cover to simply rake Elijah’s eyes.

Jealous at Blum’s moustache, Aytac tries to rip that off too, before he pulled a page out of Pascal Spalter’s playbook and sat on Blum like he was a toilet. A spinebuster followed as Blum tried to fight back, but Aytac was doing a real good job of stifling the König der Catcher finalist.

Finally mounting some offence, Blum’s able to crash in with a crossbody, before he added a neckbreaker and began a one-sided flurry of attacks. Aytac avoids Total Depravity, but after handing out a moonsault press, Blum’s able to hit the Total Depravity anyway for the win – a fun opener, with Aytac getting a lot more than you’d have expected. ***¼

    Zoltan vs. Cappuccino Jones
Jones’ WWE ID title was not on the line here in what was his wXw debut – and he wasn’t getting the same hostile reaction as in Bielefeld 24 hours later.

Zoltan looked to have the better of it early on, frustrating Jones as he tried to escape some grounded headscissors, before he took Jones into the corner with some rights. A boot coming out turned it around briefly, only for Zoltan’s dropkicks to put him right back in charge.

Cappuccino’s right hand cuts off a dive attempt as he took over… albeit with a lot of stalling. It bought Zoltan time to recover, but his rolling thunder splash ended his brief response as Jones tried to put things away moments later with a DDT. More stalling opened it up again for Zoltan, this time capitalising with a crossbody off the top, before the rolling thunder frog splash almost got him the win.

Second time’s the charm for that springboard cutter out of the corner as the match became finely poised… but Zoltan went to the well once too often, missing another springboard cutter, before Jones’ Decaffeinator neckbreaker proved to be enough for the win. This was fine, but Jones’ pacing seems to be more fitting a TV product than a live one. **¾

    Nordino vs. Metehan
Hey, so that’s what CSI stands for! Collegamento Siciliano Infernale – or the Hellish Sicilian Connection, if you want to be literal. Check out Thommy getting down to the CSI theme as well…

We’ve got a jump cut to Metehan’s entrance, before Metehan bumped Nordino around with some right hands to get us going. There’s a screechy low dropkick too from Metehan, before Nordino bailed to the outside and into the sea of humanity in Münster. Problem is, Metehan’s gone nowhere, and Nordino just returned into the frying pan.

Nordino’s able to avoid a sliding punch, but begged off into the corner before a cross-chop to the throat and a shot to the back of the head knocked the veteran down. A running enziguiri into the corner’s only good for a one-count for Nordino, who keeps things grounded… at least until Metehan fired back with forearms and a handspring back elbow, before an uranage and a sliding forearm got the win. **½

wXw European Championship: Bobby Gunns vs. Ricky Sosa (c)
This’ll be Gunns’ second crack at the European belt – with wXw’s newest title being the one thing between him and whatever the latest thing they’re calling the complete set is.

Someone by the camera really loved the wristlock exchange that got us going, but Sosa got caught out by Gunns holding onto the ropes to avoid a dropkick. Ricky had more luck with the slingshot armdrag as the early back-and-forth just about left the champion on top.

Gunns kicked out Sosa’s knees as he was in the corner, opening a spell of offence for him as Gunns targeted Sosa’s arm en route to firing off a series of PKs. A Dragon screw countered those, before a rapid-fire flurry ended with Sosa suplexing Gunns. Sosa’s back to his feet first, landing a roundhouse enziguiri before saving a springboard moonsault to get a near-fall.

Gunns’ shotgun dropkick got caught and turned into a Boston crab seconds later, but Gunns got to the ropes as Sosa struggled to maintain grip. There’s a lovely pull-up Northern Lights suplex out of Sosa as he maintained offence, at least until Gunns hit back with a Euro clutch for a near-fall.

A follow-up PK misses as we’re back to the back-and-forth, with Gunns landing a PK, clothesline and an Ehrenmann driver in quick succession for a near-fall. Back-and-forth punches led to the pair trading boots to the face, before Sosa stunned Gunns with a Blue Thunder Bomb out of nowhere for the win. A well-worked outing in what was Sosa’s first defence of the title here. ***¼
