We’ve got the last match from 16 Carat Gold weekend, and the final build for Frankfurt’s 16 Carat Gold Revenge on the latest Shotgun.
Quick Result
Johnnie Robbie pinned Orsi in 6:08 (**¾)
— In the next week or so, I’ll be chatting about this show with Mike Kilby on the Auf Die Fresse podcast. Links to stream that episode when it drops, as well as back episodes are available at AufDieFresse.co.uk
We’re back just inside the Turbinenhalle as Mett Dimassi reminds us that Carat is behind us. Spoilsport.
We’ve got some clips from Carat weekend, including Dennis Dullnig cheating to retain the Shotgun title on the We Love Wrestling show, 1 Called Manders getting teased by Tetsuya Naito, Robert Dreissker getting misted, Minoru Suzuki sparking up, Chihiro Hashimoto beating Dani Luna, and Jane Nero squeaking out a win against Kanji.
Cue some backstage comments… Robin Christopher Fohrwerk’s got a Planet Gojirah patch over his tracksuit jacket and reckons that’s success. I’m not qualified to comment on sewing (or many other things!) Fohrwerk reckons that all of wXw should be his, but Cowboy Way wander in to shut him up… Dreissker and Empire back up their manager, and I smell a new tag title feud! Hey, for Frankfurt too!
Dani Luna takes shots at Jane Nero for stealing the wXw women’s title to revive it… Dani Luna wants the belt, even if it’s not real yet. Next: Fast Time Moodo’s drinking while CSI argue. Apparently Luca de Leone isn’t working Frankfurt… because Uncle Francesco called him. Nordino’s on his own, against Dieter Schwartz. Of course, Dieter shushes the Italians and tries to twist off Nordino’s wrist as he’s against people having fun.
Chihiro Hashimoto has some words too, reminding us she’s back in September for Femmes Fatales. Next: Metehan and Rambo are on the fire escape. They’re back (again) as a tag team, and want a challenge. There’s a screenshot in there from Metehan which I’m sure some will dispute, while Rambo wants them to have a proper tag team name: Los Comprades. I feel like I’m getting deja vu here…
The Grind are… apparently looking for loose change down the back of the sofa? I kid, they’re just having trouble zipping up their suitcase. Can relate. Zoltan interrupts Nick and Laurance as he’s still hyped up over his Carat weekend. Like a kid with too much sugar. Laurance is still sore over everything with Planet Gojirah, so Nick escorts Zoltan away.
We’re back with Mett, who’s with Ben Thamer, who confirms the Planet Gojirah vs. Cowboy Way match for Frankfurt… along with Ahura, Metehan & Peter Tihanyi vs. The Grind & Zoltan. Whatever happened to Los Compadres already!?
Well, Ian, if you’d waited, we’re told seconds later that at We Love Wrestling 76 in Dresden on April 11, Los Compadres get The Grind. Also in Dresden, Zoltan challenges Ricky Sosa for the European title… while in Leipzig on April 12, we’ve got a trios match with Los Compadres and Axel Tischer facing Dennis Dullnig and Planet Gojirah. Also in Leipzig, Ahura faces Ricky Sosa in non-title action.
Your full card for Frankfurt next weekend then…
wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship: Bobby Gunns vs. Elijah Blum (c)
wXw Shotgun Championship: Amedeo vs. Dennis Dullnig (c)
wXw World Tag Team Championship: Cowboy Way (1 Called Manders & Thomas Shire) vs. Planet Gojirah (Robert Dreissker & Marc Empire) (c)
The Grind (Laurance Roman & Nick Schreier) & Zoltan vs. Ahura, Metehan & Peter Tihanyi
Lil Marz vs. Jane Nero
Nordino vs. Dieter Schwartz
Alex Duke vs. Katsuya Murashima
Johnnie Robbie vs. Orsi
Robbie’s West Coast Pro Women’s title isn’t on the line here… and we’ve got Mett Dimassi and Dave Bradshaw on the English language call.
This was Orsi’s first appearance in wXw since 2025’s Pro Wrestling Grand Prix weekender, and we started with a handshake here before Orsi managed to take down Robbie with a waistlock, albeit for just a one count. Robbie’s armdrag and headscissors took Orsi into the corner, but the Hungarian’s able to strike her way back into the match, ahead of a delayed fallaway slam that flung Robbie across the ring.
A quick return from Robbie sees her sidestep Orsi’s spear, sending Orsi into the corner ahead of a roll-up… Robbie twists Orsi’s neck a la Zack Sabre Jr. as the neither woman seemed to be able to maintain the offensive, at least until this point as Orsi was getting worn down in the corner.
Orsi’s able to throw Robbie out of a rear naked choke, before a series of clotheslines led to a powerslam off the ropes for a near-fall. From there, Orsi looks for the Glitter Bomb (the Dodon), but Robbie escapes and scored with a roll-up, before Orsi’s spear out of nowhere almost ended it.
After the kick-out, Orsi tries the Glitter Bomb again, but Robbie again rolls her way out for a near-fall, before a knee strike and the TYK double knee drop picked up the win. A solid outing to warm up the crowd before the final night of Carat – with Orsi and Robbie looking food for the time they had here. **¾
