    wXw Shotgun (April 16, 2026)

    16th April 2026Updated:17th April 20267 Mins Read

After a weekend in Saxony, we’ve got a bumper episode of Shotgun to set the table for next month’s True Colors.

    Quick Results
Peter Tihanyi pinned Dieter Schwartz in 8:54 (***)
Elijah Blum pinned Shreddy in 3:45 (**½)

    — In the next week or so, I’ll be chatting about this show with Mike Kilby on the Auf Die Fresse podcast. Links to stream that episode when it drops, as well as back episodes are available at AufDieFresse.co.uk

Mett’s back and hyped up for what happened last weekend in Saxony… and throws to the first of two matches on this episode of Shotgun.

    Dieter Schwartz vs. Peter Tihanyi
This one’s from Dresden, and we’ve got English commentary from Mett Dimassi and Norman Harras.

Schwartz bailed as the crowd were chanting at the bell… which is a bold choice given we’re running with 10-minute time limits here. Schwartz focused on the arm to start, but Tihanyi rolled free before he took Schwartz into the corner for some uppercuts. Tihanyi lands a dropkick after he’d slipped out of a suplex, only for Schwartz to slip outside and drag the Hungarian onto the apron for a kick to the head.

From there, Schwartz dropped the knees to Tihanyi’s previously-injured arm, before a Regalplex back inside almost ended things. Schwartz stayed on Tihanyi with an overhead wristlock, then with a cross-chop and a European uppercut, before Tihanyi just about scored with a tornado DDT.

Tihanyi had to flip out of a German suplex before countering back with an Asai DDT for a near-fall, before a low dropkick tripped Dieter back into the corner. Schwartz tried to hit right back by going for the arm trap, but Tihanyi’s able to break free and hit some double knees, before a slingshot cutter was blocked and turned into a cradle… Tihanyi kicks out as the pair frantically went for covers, with the see-saw pinning attempts eventually leading to the win for the Hungarian. I liked the closing stretch here as the pair threw their usual plan out of the window and just went for the win with the time limit looming. ***

We’ve some recaps from the weekend, including Blum’s victory over Thomas Shire… Axel Tischer winning the Shotgun title… Metehan cheating to beat the Grind… Zoltan unseating Ricky Sosa for the European title… and Ahura putting away Ricky Sosa. We’ve also got bits of Jane Nero beating Lil Marz and the Roman/Schreier matches from Leipzig.

From there, we’re taken backstage as Laurance Roman looked to apologise to Nick Schreier for what happened in their match… Elijah Blum intervenes to give Nick some water, but got chewed out by Roman, who finally snapped and blasted Nick Schreier for being “ungrateful.” That led to a challenge – Zoltan and Roman vs. Schreier and Blum. Interesting…

Ahura’s taking a phone call on a sofa when he’s interrupted by a kneepad… yeah, it’s CSI. They reckoned they helped Ahura win Carat, and so they’re responsible for the “Gold King.” Ahura pointed out CSI’s recent losing run, and how Italy had failed to qualify for the World Cup. Again. That’s a low blow. Ahura’s apparently got company coming over, and tells CSI to scram before the girls arrive…

Elsewhere, Mett’s got an interview with Peter Tihanyi. The Hungarian said he wants to face the best he can… which means in Hamburg he’s getting Yota Tsuji. A jealous Dieter Schwartz wanders in and pointed out that he was so close to winning, but Tihanyi pointed out his credentials. Of course, Schwartz noted that being a two-time finalist meant he’d not won… but that went nowhere.

Jane Nero’s looking forward to facing Diana Strong in Hamburg… and doesn’t give a toss about who she’s beaten in the past, or what kind of Mone’s been made there. Nero pokes the Dani Luna bear again, calling out how Luna missed the last show in Hamburg…

The cameras invade Planet Gojirah’s dressing room next. Robert Dreissker’s regretting taking the trios match because of all the shenanigans that went on, but they’re interrupted by Metehan and Rambo, with Rambo en español asking for a title shot. Metehan underscored that in German, followed by some back-and-forth puns, before Robin Christopher Fohrwerk accepted the match.

Dennis Dullnig claimed he only lost the Shotgun title to Axel Tischer because it was in the Axeman’s home town. Dullnig wanted a rematch on neutral turf, and we’re getting this at True Colours in Hamburg.

Niklas Bock’s filming a vlog when CSI’s caught red handed stealing Ahura’s trophies. They’re dressed like they’re about to hit the Antarctic, before Ahura caught up to them and got his property back. As a reward, Ahura offered Bock a spot on the card in Hamburg – “040 and 069 connect.”

Ben Thamer’s here to run down some matches…

    Jane Nero vs. Diana Strong
    Katsuya Murashima vs. Bobby Gunns
    Peter Tihanyi vs. Yota Tsuji

For Drive of Champions in Oberhausen on June 6
    Jane Nero vs. Dani Luna
    Kanji vs. Orsi
Jun Akiyama & Ahura vs. Cowboy Way

    Shreddy vs. Elijah Blum
This one from Leipzig isn’t for Blum’s title…

Shreddy started by charging Blum into the corner with some shoulder barges, before an overhead suplex flung the champion across the ring. An elbow drop and some push-ups follow from Shreddy, but the showing off barely gets him a one-count before Blum hit back with a dropkick.

It’s too early for a Parting Gift as Shreddy snuck out and hit a fallaway slam, before a powerslam led to a delayed Vader Bomb elbow out of the corner. Another dropkick from Blum helps him get back in it, before his flipping neckbreaker left Shreddy in trouble.

Blum pushes on with forearms and clotheslines in the corner, before a moonsault press and a sliding D put Shreddy away. This was exactly what it needed to be with Blum getting the comprehensive win, while still giving Shreddy something. **½

We go backstage as Joey Sensation’s with Robin Christopher Fohrwerk… Joey asks about how the tie-up with Planet Gojirah came about, but Fohrwerk doesn’t really answer that question. A question was asked about Peter Tihanyi, which had Fohrwerk immediately go pale as he made it clear he didn’t want to talk about his former charge. Joey brought up Fohrwerk bailing before the show in Bielefeld, but Robin didn’t want to talk about that either, nor the loss to Elijah Blum at the 25th Anniversary. Is there anything from the past that he does want to talk about?

Fohrwerk understandably was a little upset at being left lying in his blood while fans cheered as someone who wasn’t meant to be a wrestler took a beating. Fohrwerk took exception to how Peter Tihanyi abandoned him, then said that Planet Gojirah were supporting him instead… and he’ll be acting as their spokesperson rather than have them handle the stupid questions as Shotgun went off the air with a clearly rattled Fohrwerk staring down the lens.
